The Natural Color Diamond Association (NCDIA), which recently opened an office in Bangkok, is planning to hold an exclusive fancy colour diamond exhibition in China next year in a bid to further fortify its presence in Asia.
NCDIA Asia, located in the 59-storey Jewelry Trade Center (JTC) in downtown Bangkok, provides an Asian base for NCDIA members around the world as well as an avenue to hold seminars and other activities aimed for at educating consumers about natural fancy colour diamonds.
NCDIA Asia is also mulling to hold an exclusive Colored Diamond Exhibition in China in 2019.
“NCDIA Asia is fortunate to be located in the same building as the Bangkok Diamonds and Precious Stones Exchange,” said Barbara Wheat, director of NCDIA Asia. “NCDIA Asia and the Bangkok Diamonds and Precious Stones Exchange’s board of directors are in alignment and will speak with ‘one voice’ to the Thai government for promulgation of laws that facilitate and promote the diamond business as a whole.”
The Asian Institute of Gemological Sciences lab, also based in the JTC, is working on issuing a “Quality Mark” to raise awareness of and appreciation for natural fancy colour diamonds, Wheat continued.
